“End The War In Ukraine Or Face Severe Sanctions,” Trump Tells Putin

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war in Ukraine, warning of severe economic consequences if a resolution is not reached. In a post on Truth Social, Trump proposed peace talks and hinted at additional measures such as higher tariffs, sanctions, and taxes on Russian goods.

Trump highlighted the deteriorating Russian economy due to the prolonged conflict and suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is open to negotiations. However, he expressed uncertainty about Putin’s willingness to engage in talks.

This approach represents a shift from the previous U.S. administration’s strategy, which focused on military and financial aid to Ukraine. Trump aims to leverage economic pressure to expedite peace but faces skepticism about the potential impact of these measures, given the already strained trade relationship between the U.S. and Russia.

The Kremlin has yet to respond to Trump’s statements, which come nearly three years into the conflict.
