Former FCT Minister Jeremiah Useni Dies At 82 After Protracted Illness

Retired Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), passed away on Thursday at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness.

The announcement was made in Jos by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

Governor Mutfwang described the death of the former Minister and Quarter Master General of the Nigerian Army as a significant loss to his family, the Nigerian Armed Forces, Plateau State, and the nation.

He acknowledged Useni’s contributions to Nigeria’s security and political landscape, particularly his efforts to promote peace and security in Northern Nigeria and Plateau State.

The governor prayed for divine comfort for the family, the state, and the nation, asking for strength to bear the irreplaceable loss and God’s presence in this time of mourning.
