Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde Mourns Elder Brother’s Sudden Death

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has lost his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde. He passed away suddenly at his residence in Ibadan on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 65.
The news was confirmed by Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and head of the Aigbofa family of Oja’ba, Ibadan.
Chief Makinde revealed that Engineer Sunday Makinde died at 3:20 a.m., leaving behind siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as children and grandchildren.
Further details regarding burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
