Lateef Adedimeji And Wife Adebimpe Secure Ekiti State Backing For Epic Movie On Ekiti Parapo War

Actor, Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe, have gained the support of the Ekiti State Government to produce an epic film centered on the historic Ekiti Parapo War.

The movie aims to portray the Ekiti people’s struggle against oppression and their eventual triumph, employing world-class production to bring the story to life.

Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, announced the development in a statement on Tuesday. According to Oyebode, the governor approved the project during a meeting held on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.

The production will be a collaboration between the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company, owned by the Nollywood couple. It will be privately funded and spearheaded by AL Notions, the team behind the acclaimed movie Lisabi: The Uprising.

Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, will lead the government’s team on the project. A renowned artistic director in Africa, Professor Bakare is expected to lend his expertise to the production.

Adebimpe Adedimeji, an indigene of Ijero-Ekiti, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing her commitment alongside her husband to its success. The couple pledged to highlight Ekiti’s rich cultural heritage, with the film featuring various towns and villages in the state as key filming locations.

The project will also involve a diverse cast of talented actors, including those of Ekiti origin, as part of efforts to showcase the history and traditions of the region.
