Woman Cleared After Being Falsely Accused of Poisoning Five People

Aisha Suleiman was nearly lynched in October 2024 after someone on X accused her of poisoning her boyfriend and four friends. A viral post with her photo led to public outrage, and she was attacked upon returning to her community.

Despite not being in the area at the time of the incident, she was tied up by angry residents who attempted to set her on fire. Authorities intervened just in time to save her life. She was later arrested and charged.

However, a human rights activist took up her case, leading to a thorough investigation. It was ultimately revealed that the victims died from inhaling generator fumes, not poisoning.

Speaking after her exoneration, Aisha denied ever cooking pepper soup for anyone. She explained that tensions arose after she ended her relationship with her late ex-boyfriend, and his father barred her from visiting their house.

On the day of the tragic incident, she was in Iyakpi, while the deaths occurred in Afashio.

Now, many are calling for legal action against the person who falsely accused her.
