Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has rusticated 37 students for one academic session over allegations of criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, and cyber-stalking.

According to official documents obtained by SaharaReporters, the students were punished for their involvement in a WhatsApp group allegedly created to mobilize a protest against the university’s proposed third semester.

Following an investigation, the Students’ Disciplinary Committee presented its findings to the University Senate, which approved the decision at its 123rd Regular Meeting on October 31, 2024.

A letter signed by the Registrar, Dr. Bala I. Ahmed, directed the affected students to stay off campus unless granted written permission. They will be allowed to return for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session but must be accompanied by their parents or guardians and submit a written undertaking of good behavior.
