Nigerian singer Ayra Starr is facing online backlash after a video surfaced of her vibing to Naira Marley’s latest hit, I’m Back (Pxy Drip).
Naira Marley, who is the head of Marlians Record label, has been accused of involvement in the death of his former signee, Mohbad. This controversy has led to calls from some Nigerians to cancel Marley, as well as other associated figures like Zinoleesky and Sam Larry.
Despite the allegations, Naira Marley’s I’m Back has enjoyed popularity since its release in December 2024, with high replay value and widespread engagement on platforms like TikTok. He recently clapped back at trolls who declared “No more Marlians,” pointing to the song’s success across streaming platforms.
In the viral video, Ayra Starr can be seen excitedly chanting “Marlians” as she dances to the track, even showing off her moves as she sings along. She also teased the release of her own upcoming song, All the Love, set to drop on February 11, 2025.
However, her visible support for Naira Marley has drawn mixed reactions. Some Nigerians expressed disappointment over her actions, with some even calling for her to be canceled.
