Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has spoken out, insisting he is innocent of recent allegations against him.
The singer denied engaging in any fight or assaulting anyone.
His statement follows reports on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that Portable and his associates attacked Ogun State officials on a special mission at his bar.
In the aftermath of the incident, it was reported that the singer was arrested, and his bar was shut down, with the Ogun State government condemning the act.
Amid the controversy, Portable released a video refuting the claims, maintaining that he was falsely accused.
âItâs a youth matter. Iâm a small boy. I didnât fight anybody. I might be troublesome, but this time, I was asleep when they came to my house and bar, asking everyone to leave,â he said.
âThey went to an academy where I help young peopleânot just musicians but also tailors, carpenters, and bricklayers.â
âThe elders, the owners of the earth, have lied against us. My glory will defeat my enemies. That house is where I buried my mother when I was 13.â
âThey came and destroyed my bar, took my properties, injured my apprentices, and beat my customers before sending them home.â
âMy fans, I swear to God, I didnât fight anyone. Let them show proof that I did.â
