Asake Launches Record Label, Giran Republic After Leaving YBNL

Nigerian artist Asake has officially parted ways with YBNL Nation, confirming earlier speculation.

Marking this new chapter, Asake released his latest single “Why Love” under his own imprint, Giran Republic.

Despite his departure from YBNL, Asake remains committed to his distribution deal with Empire, signed in July 2022.

This strategic move allows him to maintain creative control while leveraging Empire’s global reach.
