Woman Drops Lawsuit Against Diddy and Jay-Z Over Alleged Assault

A woman who accused hip-hop moguls Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z of sexually assaulting her when she was 13 has dropped her civil lawsuit.

Court records show that she voluntarily dismissed the case on Friday. According to a document filed with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit was dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled.

The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, had alleged in December that Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, and Combs raped her at a party following the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000.

It remains unclear whether a settlement was reached. However, Jay-Z, 55, welcomed the case’s dismissal, calling the allegations “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.”

“This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims,” he said in a statement.
