A cleric in Ilorin, Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, has been arrested in connection with the disappearance and suspected m¥rder of Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, a final-year student of Kwara State College of Education.

Reports indicate that Ballo allegedly lured Yetunde after connecting with her on Facebook and obtaining her phone number. The incident took place on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Yetunde was last seen at a naming ceremony, where she stepped out to take a phone call but never returned. Following an extensive search, her family reported her missing at the Oja Oba Police Station in Ilorin.

Investigators traced her last known call to Ballo, leading them to his residence in the Offa Garage area. Although he initially denied any involvement, a search of his home reportedly uncovered her dism£mbered remains, along with tools suspected to have been used in the act.

Ballo claimed Yetunde suffered an asthma att@ck at his residence, but authorities are questioning his account due to the evidence discovered. He is currently being held at the Kwara State Police Headquarters.

Attempts to obtain a statement from the Kwara State Police spokesperson have so far been unsuccessful.
