The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, also known as “Portable,” wanted for allegedly assaulting government officials who were carrying out their lawful duties.
According to a statement from the police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, on February 5, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, including TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. During the operation, they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area. Upon introducing themselves and requesting the approved building plan, the father informed them that his son was unavailable.
However, moments later, Portable arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons. He led a group of nine thugs in a violent assault on the unarmed officials. Although the enforcement officers sustained various injuries, they managed to escape and reported the attack to the Ota Area Command, which escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
While nine accomplices were arrested, Portable fled the scene and has been on the run ever since. Despite multiple formal invitations sent to him, requesting his appearance at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Portable has ignored them without providing any legal representation.
As a result of his continued evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a court order declaring him wanted.
Odutola urged the public to assist the police in locating Portable by providing any information that could lead to his arrest. She warned that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect would face legal consequences.
For relevant information, members of the public are encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or Police Public Relations Department.
