Actor Yomi Fabiyi has once again taken to the streets in his quest for justice for the late singer Mohbad, leading a new protest on February 27. Mohbad died under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023, leaving many questions unanswered.
Determined to keep the fight alive, Fabiyi mobilized youths for what he described as a “peaceful” demonstration, urging them to join him in demanding truth and accountability.
In a viral video, the actor was seen marching from Alausa to the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, holding a banner that read, “Justice for Mohbad 2025.” The protest was marked by a calm but resolute call for transparency in the ongoing investigation into the singer’s death.
This demonstration follows a controversial ruling by a Yaba magistrate court, which dismissed charges against Mohbad’s former record label boss, Naira Marley, as well as Sammy Larry and Prime Boy, regarding their alleged roles in his death.
While the ruling stirred debate, the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) announced plans to prosecute auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Ogedengbe, whom police previously identified as the “prime suspect,” allegedly administered the injection that led to Mohbad’s death.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, stated that Ogedengbe “administered multiple and highly potent injections, which triggered an immediate reaction that eventually occasioned the death of Mohbad.”
