Sonia Adesuwa, the ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has taken a swipe at him over a viral video where he claimed to have consistently paid 10% of his earnings as tithe for the past 20 years.

In the video, Ighalo boasted about his dedication to tithing, stating that he had never missed a single payment. However, Sonia, in a now-deleted Instagram story, ridiculed him, accusing him of misleading his followers while allegedly neglecting his own family.

She claimed that Ighalo’s elder sister sells garri and tomatoes in a kiosk despite his public display of generosity toward religious leaders. Sonia also criticized his siblings, alleging that they contribute nothing to society and still live in his house with their spouses and children.

Furthermore, she accused Ighalo of paying bloggers to tarnish her image and vowed to continue exposing him.

“This is coming from someone whose elder sister sells garri and tomatoes in a kiosk. This boy is insane as hell! Continue to deceive your gullible followers with your diabolical Aza Men, whom you call MOG,” she wrote.

She also recalled a pastor named Dozel allegedly urging her to convince Ighalo to start paying tithes to him and his colleagues, claiming that another pastor, Osita, was benefiting alone.

Sonia concluded her rant by questioning why Ighalo prioritizes giving 10% of his income to pastors while his own family allegedly struggles.

“10% to Aza Men pastors when your family never chop finish. No be juju be that?” she wrote.
