Popular Yoruba Nollywood actor Babatunde Tayo, better known as Baba Tee, has retracted his earlier denial and admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, aka Lande.
The actor made this revelation during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTokers on Sunday, contradicting his previous claim that he never slept with Lande’s wife and had even challenged the comedian to provide evidence or face legal action for defamation.
Lande had previously alleged in an interview that his wife was unfaithful to him and had been involved with at least 21 men in the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee. In response, the actor initially dismissed the accusation, stating that he only met Dara once in 2023 through actress Marygold, who introduced her as a content creator.
However, in a surprising turn, Baba Tee admitted to engaging in a brief sexual encounter with Dara but claimed it happened under the influence of alcohol during a Truth or Dare game with Marygold and Dara.
Explaining the situation, he said, “When Marygold and Dara visited my house, Marygold told me she needed an MC for an upcoming event but never mentioned she was bringing someone along. She introduced Dara as a content creator, not Lande’s wife. They later started asking if I had a Qatar connection before suggesting we play Truth or Dare.”
He further narrated that Marygold stripped completely during the game and repeatedly dared him to get intimate with Dara while consuming alcohol to avoid participating in certain tasks. Eventually, Marygold dared Dara to engage in a “quick” sexual act with him, and she agreed.
“The reason I initially denied sleeping with Lande’s wife was because I genuinely didn’t know she was married to him. Marygold never introduced her as such. I now realize that it was a setup to tarnish my image,” Baba Tee stated.
Following his admission, Esabod advised him to formally apologize to Lande, pointing out that denying the affair before later confessing made it a deeper betrayal.
Shortly after the interview, Baba Tee took to his official Facebook page to express remorse, writing, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge… Hmmm. I fear women.”
