The singer shared two stylish photos of herself in a black gown on X, expecting admiration from fans. However, the post sparked backlash, as critics accused her of ignoring pressing national issues, particularly the plight of an NYSC member who recently spoke out against inflation and the hardships faced by corps members under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The corps member’s viral video, in which she also mocked Lagos for its alleged bad odor, led to public outrage and reports that she was facing threats from NYSC officials. Amid the heated debate, Ayra Starr’s post was seen as tone-deaf, drawing strong reactions from social media users.

One user, @Obaji_esq, criticized her, saying, “Can’t you see that today is about calling out bad government? Can’t you use your platform for once and talk about the real issues? Must you post your face and body?”
