Bob Lee’s Family Sues His Killer and Family for Conspiracy, Evidence Tampering

The family of murdered Cash App founder, Bob Lee is suing Nima Momeni, his mother, sister, brother-in-law, and several property management companies, accusing them of conspiring to destroy key evidence following the murder. 

According to documents filed in San Francisco Superior Court, the lawsuit claims Momeni’s relatives attempted to sell the car he used to pick up Lee on the night of the killing and deleted information from their cellphones to conceal evidence.

Additionally, the family is accusing Portside Homeowners Association and Securitas Security Services of improperly releasing disturbing security footage showing Lee’s final moments as he staggered down the street, bleeding.

 The lawsuit asserts that the footage caused significant emotional distress to Lee’s two children. They are seeking unspecified damages for negligence, wrongful death, aiding and abetting, conspiracy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.

Bob Lee, 43, was stabbed early on April 4, 2023, near downtown San Francisco. He was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries. 

Prosecutors contend that Momeni fatally stabbed Lee following a dispute over his sister, whom Lee knew and who was reportedly struggling with drug use. 

Momeni claims he acted in self-defense, saying Lee attacked him with a knife before he was stabbed. Momeni faces 16 years to life in prison, according to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
