Media personality and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa has made a headline-grabbing revelation about her evolving views on love, relationships, and marriage. Speaking candidly on her podcast Toke Moments, the 40-year-old star admitted that she is now open to the idea of becoming a co-wife — a striking shift from her past perspective.
“I won’t lie, at this point in my life if I have the opportunity to marry as a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th wife, I will think about it,” she said.
Toke, who married her longtime partner Maje Ayida in 2014, saw the marriage unravel just a year later following infidelity allegations, and the union officially ended in divorce in 2017.
Reflecting on her personal journey and the emotional toll of always being in control, she explained the reasons behind her new mindset:
“I’m the boss everywhere, and that can be tiring.
“There are certain things you would be like this could never be me, could never be this, and you see people do some certain things, and you would be the biggest judge.
“Right now, I understand.”
Makinwa also recently spoke about embracing her reality as a single, childless woman at 40 — something that once made her feel inadequate but no longer defines her. She added that had she remarried quickly, she might have ended up divorced again, emphasizing that “the lessons never stop.”
The bold admission has sparked widespread discussion, challenging traditional expectations around love and marriage, and highlighting the freedom that comes with living life on your own terms.
