Arsenal’s hopes of a first-ever Champions League title were dashed after a 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final second leg at the Parc des Princes.
Trailing by a goal from the first leg, Mikel Arteta’s side started brightly but fell further behind when Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring for PSG in the 27th minute.
Vitinha missed a chance to double the lead from the spot after a controversial VAR decision penalized Myles Lewis-Skelly for handball. However, Achraf Hakimi sealed the win with a second goal in the 72nd minute, effectively ending Arsenal’s campaign.
PSG, who have now seen off Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal in succession, advance to the final with a 3-1 aggregate win and will face Inter Milan on May 31.
