His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived at the Kremlin to participate in the 80th Victory Day Commemorations, marking Russia’s historic triumph over Nazi Germany in World War II.

President Mnangagwa, accompanied by senior government officials, was warmly received by Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa and the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, alongside Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Russia, Mark Grey Marongwe.

The commemorations, held annually on May 9, serve as a significant moment for Russia to honor its wartime sacrifices and showcase its military strength. This year’s event is particularly notable, with 29 world leaders in attendance, underscoring the global significance of the occasion.

During his visit, President Mnangagwa will engage in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening Zimbabwe-Russia relations, particularly in trade and economic cooperation. Zimbabwe and Russia share a longstanding partnership, with ongoing collaborations in sectors such as mining, agriculture, and technology.
