Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has spoken publicly about his removal from office, stating that he is not desperate to return and that his “spirit has already left office long ago.”

Fubara made the remarks during a service of songs held in honor of the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark, in Port Harcourt. His comments came in response to several speakers at the event who referred to him as “Governor” and criticized his suspension, calling for an immediate reversal.

The embattled governor distanced himself from their remarks, describing them as personal opinions and emphasizing that such comments were unlikely to promote peace. “Not everything is by Oshogbe, I want everybody to focus, there are some fights you don’t fight,” he stated.
