Top Trump Administration Officials Provide Update on Trade Negotiations with China

Senior officials from the Trump administration have provided an update on the ongoing trade negotiations with China, signaling substantial progress in discussions aimed at recalibrating economic relations between the two global powers.

President Donald Trump, who has been vocal about his administration’s efforts to level the playing field in international trade, took to social media to highlight the “great progress” made during the negotiations. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met with Chinese counterparts in Geneva, Switzerland, over the weekend to discuss trade policies, tariffs, and market access. Bessent described the talks as “productive”, emphasizing that both sides are working toward a “total reset” in trade relations.
