President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in newly appointed Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and members of the Board of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) at the State House in Abuja.
The swearing-in ceremony took place ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, marking a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions. The newly inaugurated INEC Commissioners include Mallam Tukur Abdulrazaq Yusuf, representing the North-West, and Professor Sunday Nwambam Aja, representing Ebonyi State.
Additionally, President Tinubu swore in two members of the Code of Conduct Bureau: Ikpeme Kenneth Ndem from Cross River State and Justice Buba Ibrahim Nyaure (Rtd.) from Taraba State.
Speaking after the ceremony, INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu emphasized the Commission’s commitment to electoral reforms discussions with the National Assembly regarding amendments to the Nigerian Constitution and Electoral Act.
