The Joint Tax Board (JTB) has approved an upward review of fees for the issuance and renewal of vehicle licenses and driver’s licenses across Nigeria. This development comes as part of ongoing efforts to align licensing costs with current economic realities and improve service delivery.

The revised fee structure, which will take effect immediately, will see Nigerians paying increased rates for obtaining new driver’s licenses as well as renewing existing ones. Similarly, vehicle owners will experience a price adjustment in the cost of renewing their vehicle licenses.

According to the JTB, the decision was reached after a comprehensive assessment of operational costs and infrastructural improvements needed to enhance licensing processes. The board assured citizens that the increase would contribute to more efficient service delivery and better facilities for motorists.
