Grammy-winning artist Chris Brown has been denied bail by a British court following his arrest on charges of grievous bodily harm with intent. The singer will remain in custody until his next court appearance on June 13 at Southwark Crown Court in London.

Brown was arrested in Manchester on Thursday and appeared before Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, where prosecutors detailed allegations of an attack on music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in London’s Mayfair district on. The incident, reportedly captured on CCTV, involved Brown allegedly striking Diaw multiple times with a bottle before chasing and physically assaulting him further.

The court ruled that the severity of the charges warranted Brown’s continued detention, despite arguments from his legal. His upcoming international tour, set to begin in June, now faces uncertainty as he remains in custody.
