President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Ola Olukoyede to serve as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Presidential spokeman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Thursday, said Mr. Olukoyede’s appointment followed the resignation of the suspended Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Ola Olukoyede’s whose appointment is subject to Senate confirmation, will serve for a renewable term of four years.
If confirmed by the Senate and sworn-in to office, Ola Olukoyede will become the first Southerner to head the EFCC.
