Kano State is mourning the loss of at least 22 members of its delegation following a tragic road accident that occurred on their return journey from the 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

The accident took place in Kura Local Government Area, approximately 50 kilometers from Kano, when a vehicle carrying athletes and officials fell off a bridge near Dakatsalle town. The bus, which was the last in a convoy of eight transporting the team, was carrying about 35 passengers at the time of the crash.

The Kano State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the incident, with officials pledging support for the victims and their families. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, and further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
