Two people have died, and hundreds have been arrested following chaotic scenes across France as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans celebrated UEFA Champions League victory.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Dax, while a 23-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter in central Paris, authorities confirmed.

Amid widespread celebrations of PSG’s 5–0 triumph over Inter Milan — their first Champions League title — violence erupted across the capital. Riot police clashed with crowds, with fireworks and flares thrown. Cars were torched, shopfronts looted, and 264 vehicles set on fire, according to the French interior ministry.

A total of 559 people were arrested nationwide, including 491 in Paris. The violence left 192 people injured, including 22 police officers and seven firefighters.

Despite the unrest, police have confirmed that the club’s trophy parade will proceed on Sunday evening, with a heavy security presence along the Champs-Élysées and at the Parc des Princes.

Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez condemned the violence, noting that many perpetrators were not genuine fans but opportunists seeking to cause disruption. He assured the public of firm action against looters and vandals during upcoming events.

Elsewhere, a car rammed into PSG supporters in Grenoble, injuring four members of the same family. Authorities said the driver has been arrested but is not believed to have acted intentionally.

President Emmanuel Macron, despite his support for rival club Olympique de Marseille, congratulated PSG, calling the win a “glorious day” and praising the club for making France proud.

The team is set to be formally received at the Élysée Palace following the parade.
