Drama erupted today in Abuja, the nation’s capital, as federal civil servants held a show of force in 2 separate incidences.
Workers of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) shut down the head office of the agency in Abuja, protesting against the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.
The protesting workers denied entry to the newly appointed NIPOST CEO, saying her appointment was against their wish.
The workers who chanted solidarity songs and wielded placards, said they preferred the former CEO, Adeyemi Adepoju. It took several hours before the workers let Tola Odeyemi into the premises, which took place shortly after Adepoju left.

Meanwhile, it was a different kettle of fish at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), as workers celebrated the removal of the immediate past Chief Executive and Registrar, A. G. Abubakar.
In a viral video of a rally in front of the CAC headquarters in Abuja, the workers described Abubakar as a “tyrant leader”, and appreciated President Bola Tinubu for appointing Hussaini Sani (SAN) as the new registrar for the commission.
