The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed that there is no ongoing crisis between himself and the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara. Addressing recent developments, Wike emphasized that had President Bola Tinubu consulted him before declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State, he would not have supported such a decision.

Speaking in a recent interview, Wike stated, “I want to make it clear that I have no crisis with Siminalayi Fubara. If Mr. President had reached out to me before taking the decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State, I would not have agreed.”

The political landscape in Rivers State has been marked by tensions between Wike and Fubara, which escalated to the point where President Tinubu declared a six-month state of emergency. However, reconciliation efforts have been underway, with both leaders expressing a willingness to restore peace and stability in the state.
