The Kano State Government has officially announced a two-week holiday for all primary and post-primary schools across the state in celebration of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.

According to a statement issued by the state’s Ministry of Education, the break will commence on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, with academic activities set to resume on Sunday, June 15, 2025, for boarding students, while day students are expected to return on Monday, June 16, 2025.

The directive applies to both day and boarding schools, and parents and guardians of boarding students have been advised to pick up their children by the early hours of June 4. The Ministry emphasized that the decision aligns with the 2024/2025 academic calendar, which remains unchanged despite the festive break.

Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Makoda, urged parents to ensure their children resume promptly after the holiday to maintain the smooth continuation of the academic term. He also extended warm wishes to students and staff, stating, “We wish our students and pupils a peaceful and successful Sallah break.”
