Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Tems has taken a stand against body-shaming after a fan’s comment about her physique went viral following her electrifying performance at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.

A video of Tems’ performance quickly gained traction online, with many praising her vocal prowess and stage presence. However, one social media user made a remark about her body, prompting Tems to respond with a powerful message.

In a series of tweets, Tems addressed the scrutiny she has faced over the years, stating, “Okay, 7 years in. It’s time to pack it up. I never thought I’d need to say it but you are all weird… Dog, it’s mine.” She emphasized that she has never hidden her body and does not feel the need to prove anything to the public.

Her response sparked widespread support from fans and fellow artists, with many calling for an end to the objectification of female musicians. Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, also weighed in, criticizing online trolls and backing the singer’s stance.
