Tension flared at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) as a grieving family, supported by concerned citizens, staged a protest following the hospital’s refusal to release their deceased son’s body over an unpaid medical bill totaling ₦1.9 million.

The demonstration erupted earlier today as relatives and sympathizers demanded justice and compassion from the hospital administration. The bereaved family stated that their son had tragically passed away after receiving treatment, yet the hospital insisted on full payment before releasing the body for burial, an action that many protesters deemed inhumane.
