Supreme Court Commences Judgment on 2023 Presidential Election

The Supreme Court has started proceedings on the judgment of the 2023 presidential election. 

The petitions before the court are from Peter Obi of the Labour (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are appealing the Presidential Election Tribunal Court’s verdict that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

Among those present in the court are the Chief of Staff to the president, Femi Gbajabiamila; FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, among others.

Meanwhile, the court proceedings are being transmitted live on Television.
