It was a night of glamour and glitz as football met lifestyle at the 2023 Ballon d’Or Awards. The annual ceremony is one of football’s biggest prizes having started in the 1955/1956 season.
Argentine World Cup-winning captain Lionel Messi was the biggest winner of the night as he claimed the Men’s prize for a record-extending 8th time, while Spain’s World Cup-winning midfield maestro Aitana Bonmati won the women’s prize.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s superstar artiste Rema performed his award-winning global hit track ‘Calm Down‘, becoming the first ever African Artiste to perform at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
