A secondary school mathematics teacher in Ogun State, Lateef Olaniran, has been arrested for allegedly raping 2 young ladies.
Olaniran, a native of Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, is a Mathematics teacher at Ebenezer Grammar School, Iberekodo, Abeokuta.
The State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Olaleye, disclosed the arrest.
Governor Dapo Abiodun reacting in a statement assured members of the public that the state government and law enforcement agencies are committed to tackling rape and ensuring justice prevails.
âOur collective voice must resound in unison, condemning these acts and demanding justice for the victims. Rape is a criminal offence that leaves lasting scars on its survivorsâphysically, emotionally, and mentally.
âNo individual should experience such trauma or live in constant fear of becoming a victim. It is our responsibility to reaffirm the values of respect, empathy, and compassion towards one another.
âOur law enforcement agencies have intensified their efforts to investigate instances of sexual assault and apprehend the culprits.
âAdditionally, support and counselling services have been bolstered to provide guidance and assistance to survivors during their journey towards healing and recovery.â
