The Nigerian music industry is in mourning following the death of rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji (Oladips).

Oladips death comes after he battled illness and is the second loss of a major music artiste in Nigeria in recent months, following that of Mohbad.

1. Born on March 24, 1995, Oladipupo Oladimeji, widely known as Oladips, left an indelible mark on the music scene.

2. Kicking off his musical journey in 2012 with a captivating cover of Drake’s song ‘SUCCESSFUL,’ featuring Trey Songz, Oladips showcased his talent and versatility.

3. His rise to fame began with a victory in D’banj‘s “King is here” competition, leading to a record deal with rapper Reminisce‘s Edge Records.

4. Renowned for hits like “Ajala,” “Mainland 2 Island” featuring Zlatan, and “Lalakukulala” featuring Reminisce, Oladips consistently delivered chart-topping tracks.

5. In 2016, Oladips amicably parted ways with Reminisce‘s record label, marking a new phase in his career.

6. Embarking on a fresh chapter, he released the single ‘Die Young‘ on October 6, 2023, showcasing his evolving musical style.

7. Tragically, Oladips passed away on November 14, 2023, at the age of 28, leaving behind a legacy that resonates with fans and the music industry.
