The Lagos State Government has issued a response to the allegations of an over bloated budget and reckless spending contained in the financial documents published on the website on the stateĀ Public Procurement Agency.
Over the last 3 days, several Nigerians have been knocking the Lagos state government on its budget after an expose by a governorship candidate in the state, Funsho Doherty.
The Director-General of the agency Fatai Onafowote in a statement said the body was committed towards transparency, accuracy and accountability in all government transactions.
Fatai Onafowote said the financial information had been misinterpreted due to misunderstandings arising from a lack of clarity, which according to him, had triggered unintended misinterpretations.
