Three People Trapped as One-Storey Building Collapses in Ebute-Metta, Lagos

Two adult females and a baby were trapped in a one-storey building which collapsed in the Ebute-Metta area of Lagos State in the early hours of Friday.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and the baby.

“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is presently responding to an emergency reported at 09:00 hours at 122 Herbert Macaulay Way, Lagos Bus Stop, Ebute Meta, Lagos, where a one-storey building with a penthouse has collapsed.

“Two adults and a baby, all females, are currently trapped, and search and rescue efforts are underway.

“However, an adult female has been successfully rescued and is in stable condition, with the State Emergency Response fully activated”.
