Two goals from winger Ademola Lookman gave Nigeria’s Super Eagles a comfortable 2-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Atalanta forward scored one goal in each half to send the Super Eagles to the competition’s quarter-final, where they will face Angola.
Nigeria drew the first blood when defender Semi Ajayi found the back of the net, but saw his goal disallowed for offside following a VAR review.
However, the constant pressing and bullying of the Cameroon defence by Victor Osimhen led to Lookman finding the net in the 36th minute.
