President Bola Tinubu has awarded the national honour of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) to the Super Eagles, following their impressive display at the Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles who had a reception at the State House, were also awarded one flat each and a plot of land in the FCT.

All the team members and officials were in attendance at the Presidential reception.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who had a good run at the AFCON, reached the final but lost 2-1 to hosts Ivory Coast.

Despite the failure to win the trophy, the Super Eagles have been praised by Nigerians for their performance at the competition, and for making the country proud.
