President Tinubu Orders Payment of Aso Rock’s Electricity Debts after Threat of Disconnection

President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate payment of electricity bills owed by the State House, Aso Rock to The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC).

This was contained in a press statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy.

The statement explained that the total electricity debt owed by the State House was N342,352,217.46, which Tinubu said should be cleared after the reconciliation of accounts between the State House Management and AEDC.

On Monday, the AEDC threatened to disconnect the electricity supply of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, along with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) over a total debt of N47.1 billion.
