Nigerian actor and rapper Ikechukwu Killz has disclosed that he did not receive any monetary reward from his initial album. In a week filled with revelations and critiques from established and emerging artists, Ikechukwu Onunakyu, also known as Ikechukwu Killz, openly shared during a live session hosted by renowned media personality Daddy Freeze that he did not receive financial remuneration for his first album.

The veteran rapper, who has transitioned into acting and appeared in numerous Nollywood films like “The Wedding Party” and “The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai”, opened up about his experience.

He remarked, “It was around 2010. Mo’Hits gave me 1 million naira in support of burying my dad. They helped me. I don leave storm records by that time. I did make some money from shows. For example, my first album. Till today I haven’t seen one penny from my first album. T-Joe promoted my first album. T-Joe paid money on my first album twice. Most of my performances, in the beginning, were promo performances. There was more fame than money”.
