The Nollywood community is in mourning over the loss of Ikechukwu Nnadi, a prominent figure affectionately known as Andy Best.
News of his passing was confirmed by Seun Oloketuyi, the organizer of the Best of Nollywood Awards (BON), on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Andy Best succumbed to an undisclosed prolonged illness, and he breathed his last at a private clinic in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. His remains have been laid to rest at the Aladinma Mortuary in Owerri.
Oloketuyi‘s Instagram post conveyed the heartbreaking news: “Andy Best, top Nollywood producer and marketer, has passed away. He breathed his last in an Owerri hospital today.”
Andy Best‘s legacy in the Nollywood industry is marked by his contributions as a producer and marketer, with notable works including “My Sweet Sister,” “Pretty Angels,” “Queen of My Heart,” and “Rain Makers,” among others.
A native of Isiala Mbano Local Government Area in Imo State, he commenced his filmmaking journey in the 1980s. One of his most renowned projects, “Ikuku,” released in 1995 and starring Pete Edochie, garnered significant acclaim. Additionally, Andy Best served as the Chief Executive Officer of Andy Best Production.
