Afrobeats sensation Teni has issued a firm admonition to individuals who persistently solicit money from her, urging them to have a sense of reverence.

Taking to her Instagram account on March 19, 2024, the singer called out the “Beggars Association,” playfully referring to those who incessantly ask her for financial assistance. She urged them to show better judgment and desist from making constant requests for money.

“Who is the president of the Beggars Association of Nigeria? I need to have a word with your leader because you all seem to have lost your conscience and sense of reverence,” she began.

She continued, “You begged me for money just three days ago, and now you’re back again, two days later, asking for more. Am I your parent? Is my head labelled with your name? Have you no respect for God? Show some reverence, members of the Beggars Association. It’s unacceptable.”

Teni expressed her frustration with how these individuals seemed indifferent to her own financial well-being. She emphasized that they have even begun requesting donations in currencies other than the Nigerian naira.
