Nigeria’s Super Eagles have defeated the Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in an international friendly match played in Morocco.

The friendly game was the first match for either side since the Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast in January.

The Super Eagles who were under the tutelage of interim coach Finidi George dominated the match from the start, forcing several saves from the Ghanaian goalkeeper.

Their dominance eventually brought fruits as they earned a penalty which was converted by Cyril Dessers in the 39th minute.

Ghana who started the second half on a bright note, however went from frying pan to fire as Jerome Opoku was sent off with a red card in the 56th minute.

The one-man advantage eventually paid off for the Eagles as Ademola Lookman, who scored 3 goals at the AFCON, grabbed a goal in the 84th minute to continue his fine form for the Super Eagles.

Ghana however secured a penalty of their own late in the match scored by Jordan Ayew in the 94th minute.

In the end, there was no further goals and the match finished 2-1 in favour of the Super Eagles.
