Ex Aviation minister, Hadi Sirika, and family granted bail over N4.13 billion theft

Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Abubakar Sirika, has been granted bail after being arraigned on allegations of corrupt practices involving approximately N4.135 billion.

The federal government brought the case against Sirika, his daughter Fatima, son-in-law Jalal Sule Hamma, and Al Buraq Global Investment Limited.

All defendants pleaded not guilty to the six-count charges.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji granted bail to the defendants in the amount of N100 million, with additional conditions.

These include providing two Nigerian sureties, one of whom must own property within the Abuja Municipality with a Certificate of Occupancy signed by the Minister of the FCT.

The defendants are also barred from traveling outside the country during the trial.

Failure to perfect the bail terms by the end of the day will result in remand in prison custody.

The court scheduled the trial to resume on June 10 and 11.
