Bayer Leverkusen made history on Saturday by becoming the first team to complete a Bundesliga season unbeaten, capping off their remarkable campaign with a 2-1 win over Augsburg.

Victor Boniface and Robert Andrich scored in the 12th and 17th minutes, respectively, securing the victory, while Augsburg’s Met Komur pulled one back in the 62nd minute.

The atmosphere at the BayArena was electric as the team celebrated their historic achievement.

The club took to Twitter to share their excitement, posting, “𝟎 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬” and highlighting their impressive 43-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

This season’s triumph marks Leverkusen’s first Bundesliga title in their 120-year history, following a dominant 5-0 win over Werder Bremen last month.

Xabi Alonso’s team showed no signs of nerves, with Florian Wirtz scoring a hat-trick and Victor Boniface and Granit Xhaka adding to the scoreline.

Leverkusen’s maiden title, after five previous second-place finishes, keeps their dream of a treble alive and finally sheds their unwanted ‘Neverkusen’ nickname.

This historic achievement cements their place in Bundesliga history and sets the stage for a bright future.
