BREAKING! Senate passes bill for new minimum wage

The Nigerian Senate has quickly approved the new minimum wage bill, moving it through all three required readings in less than an hour on Tuesday.

This bill, which was initially proposed by President Bola Tinubu, aims to increase the national minimum wage from N30,000 to N70,000.

The process began with the first reading, which involved presenting President Tinubu’s request to the Senate.

This was quickly followed by the second reading, where senators debated the general principles of the bill. Finally, the third reading was conducted, leading to the bill’s passage.
