Tobi Amusan, the 27-year-old Nigerian athlete, has kept her country’s medal hopes alive at the Paris Olympics with a strong performance in the women’s 100m hurdles event.

Competing in the first heat of the semi-finals on Friday, Amusan finished third with a time of 12.55 seconds, leaving her fate hanging in the balance as she awaits confirmation of her spot in the finals.

As a world record holder in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds, Amusan has already made a name for herself in the athletic world. Her previous achievements include gold medals at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Despite facing challenges, including a provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for missing whereabouts tests, which was later lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sports, Amusan remains a top contender for a medal at the Paris Olympics.

Her fans and country eagerly await the final results, hoping she will secure a spot on the podium.
